An increasing number of hospitals are realizing that intraoperative neuromonitoring (IOM) has become a standard of care for many surgeries. Additionally, the cost of not having this service (legal fees, etc. when damage to the nervous system occurs during surgery) is greater than the cost of the IOM service itself.
